Eye Exams

Our Services:

A comprehensive eye exam is more than just updating your glasses or contact lens prescription—it’s a full assessment of your eye health and vision clarity. At Lyons Optometry, Dr. Lyons utilizes the latest diagnostic technology to ensure your eyes are in their best condition.

Why Are Eye Exams Important?

Dr. Lyons performs the eye exam from start to finish. She will do a thorough vision exam to determine your glasses prescription and talk through your visual needs for glasses and contacts etc. She will also check the health of your eyes looking for things like allergies, glaucoma, macular degeneration etc. We always recommend getting a retinal scan so we can photo document your retinal health. Then one of our certified opticians will sit down with you and help you find glasses that are as special and amazing as you are!

What Is Included In My Eye Exam?

✔ Visual Acuity Testing – Checking your vision at various distances.
✔ Prescription Assessment – Determining your exact prescription for glasses or contact lenses.
✔ Eye Health Evaluation – Screening for signs of eye diseases and conditions.
✔ Retinal Imaging & OCT Scans – Advanced technology for a deeper look at your eye structure.
✔ Pediatric Eye Exams – Specialized exams for children to monitor vision development.

Whether you’re experiencing vision changes, eye strain, or just need a routine checkup, Dr. Lyons and her team provide expert, personalized care to keep your eyesight at its best.

How Often Should I Get My Eyes Checked?

✔ Children – Annually, starting at age 3.
✔ Adults (18-39) – Every 1-2 years.
✔ Adults (40+) – Annually to monitor for age-related vision changes.
✔ Patients with Diabetes or Risk Factors – Annually or as recommended.

Insurance

At Lyons Optometry we provide both vision eye care and medical eye care.

We accept many different insurance plans that help cover the costs of your visits and will help you navigate every step of the way.

Vision insurance and medical insurance are not the same.

Medical insurance plans protect you against financial loss due to unexpected eye injuries or eye disease. Vision insurance plans are designed to provide routine eye care, such as an annual eye exam. Most vision insurance plans also help cover the costs of materials such as glasses or contact lenses.
